Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Boomer (ranked 1319 p4p, 3251 weight class) and Jason Ebert (ranked 31 p4p, 59 weight class). Mike Boomer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Boomer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Ebert! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ebert misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ebert gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Boomer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Nice takedown defense from Boomer. No joy for Ebert on that attempt. Mike Boomer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Ebert. Boomer fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Boomer scores with a body shot.
Ebert shoots for a double leg takedown but Boomer sprawls well. He's pushed Ebert's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Boomer moves into the clinch. Ebert takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Jason Ebert has been cut. Ebert is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Boomer pulls him back up using the underhooks. Boomer pushes Ebert back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Boomer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ebert is working for takedown but Boomer is calmly controlling the position for now. Ebert looks winded! Boomer leaning his opponent against the cage. Boomer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Ebert with a lazy takedown attempt and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Boomer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boomer connects with a right hand. Ebert shakes it off. Boomer throws an uppercut from hell that sends Ebert clean off his feet! He's out cold! Boomer stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike Boomer! An out of breath Mike Boomer thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
