PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Hamadou (ranked 5357 p4p, 2702 weight class) and Roman Kos (ranked 493 p4p, 302 weight class). Roman Kos will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joseph Hamadou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roman Kos!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamadou tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kos defends well and Hamadou ends up having to push Kos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kos has had enough of the clinch but Hamadou keeps him there for the moment.

Hamadou shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hamadou was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kos looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kos is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hamadou is controlling him well.

Hamadou throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hamadou takes a little break here. Kos wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Hamadou seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kos for as long as he can get away with.
Kos pushes Hamadou away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hamadou gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kos wants to get back to his feet but Hamadou drags him back down.

Kos is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hamadou has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hamadou goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kos has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hamadou but great work by Kos.

Kos decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hamadou throws the left hand but Kos avoids the punch easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kos! But no joy.
Hamadou misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Kos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hamadou takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Kos moves away from the strike by Hamadou.
Oh Hamadou is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hamadou is holding his hands too far apart here. Kos throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Hamadou is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roman Kos!
