Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Nakamura (ranked 1344 p4p, 727 weight class) and John Crosser (ranked 157 p4p, 89 weight class). John Crosser is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenji Nakamura! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Crosser! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crosser defending well as Nakamura loads up on a big left hand. Jab by Nakamura.
It looks like John Crosser has been cut. The fight moves into the clinch position. Crosser lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nakamura backwards. Nakamura definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Crosser lands a left hand.
It looks like Kenji Nakamura has been cut. Crosser with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Crosser's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Crosser moves into the clinch. Crosser stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Nakamura fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Crosser has Nakamura pressed against the cage, preventing Nakamura from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nakamura tries to break the clinch but Crosser is controlling the position. Crosser looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Crosser blocks a body shot from Nakamura. Crosser stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Crosser struggles to land a body shot inside as Nakamura controls his hands.

Nakamura lands a hook to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Crosser prevents Nakamura from breaking the clinch. Nakamura is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Nakamura lands a nice uppercut.

Nakamura scores with an uppercut up the middle. Crosser crunches a lovely knee into Nakamura's ribcage. Nakamura can't find room to land a body shot as Crosser controls the action.
Nakamura lands an uppercut. Crosser scores with a nice hook to the head. Crosser tries a knee to the head but Nakamura blocks it.

Nakamura escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nakamura wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Nakamura misses with a punch to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nakamura tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Crosser is leaning against Nakamura and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Nakamura lands a hook that snaps the head of Crosser backwards. Nakamura wants to get back to striking at distance but Crosser won't allow it.

Crosser swings wildly with an uppercut but Nakamura uses good head movement to avoid it. Crosser looking to throw knees to the head but Nakamura is blocking nicely.
Crosser lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nakamura backwards. Crosser misses with a punch to the body.
Nakamura prevents a body shot from Crosser. Nakamura throws a head punch that misses. Nakamura tries to work over Crosser's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crosser breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Crosser takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nakamura circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crosser throws a lazy right hand but Nakamura sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nakamura lands a head shot. Nakamura cracks Crosser with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Crosser falls to his knees and Nakamura doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenji Nakamura! Kenji Nakamura is the new featherweight champion!
