The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgregor shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Furriel eats them both and turns towards Mcgregor to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mcgregor lands a really nice looking cross but Furriel seems unphased.

Furriel lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Mcgregor.

Furriel is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Mcgregor. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Furriel is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mcgregor defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Mcgregor is having to fend off submission attempts from Furriel, who is looking to sink in the choke. Furriel doesn't have the hooks in though and Mcgregor manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

Furriel drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mcgregor manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Furriel has Mcgregor in his guard.

Furriel throws a strike but Mcgregor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Furriel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcgregor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcgregor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
