The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita looks for a takedown but McGregor sprawls well.
Mesquita shoots in looking for a takedown. McGregor tries to sprawl out of it but Mesquita keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGregor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ian McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGregor tries a head kick but it misses.
McGregor lands a front kick.
McGregor stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McGregor fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McGregor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ian McGregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Enzo Mesquita.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice straight punches there by McGregor. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McGregor.
Mesquita is rocked!
McGregor cracks Mesquita's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Mesquita slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before McGregor can do further damage! This one is done, son!
