Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clay Mann (ranked 3661 p4p, 3878 weight class) and Sutton Crumb (ranked 456 p4p, 475 weight class). Sutton Crumb will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clay Mann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sutton Crumb! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mann slips a jab from Crumb. Crumb throws a right hand that misses
and Mann counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mann is standing up over Crumb. Crumb looks to escape but Mann dives into side control.

Mann wants to control but Crumb is keeping him busy. Mann misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mann cracks Crumb with a big right hand but Crumb just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Crumb looks to move to half guard but instead Mann has passed into mount! Damn! Mann has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Crumb's face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

We've been hearing that Mann has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Mann is landing with some decent strikes but Crumb is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mann looking to control and managing it successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mann landing strikes from the mount. Mann looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mann content just to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mann seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Crumb for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mann raining down shots from the mount! BOOM! Mann connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mann unloads with some shots from mount but Crumb bucks and avoids them well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crumb can do anything to dispel that myth. Mann wants to control the pace but Crumb is squirming around nicely. Crumb really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mann looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Mann content just to control the position here. Mann cracks Crumb with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crumb avoids a series of strikes thrown by Mann.

Crumb is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mann takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Crumb takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Crumb is bucking up trying to escape but Mann cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mann lands a couple of good shots and Crumb has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Oooh a big shot gets through from Mann. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Clay Mann dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Crumb throws a hook but Mann avoids it easily. Crumb gets caught flat footed, as Mann shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Mann has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mann drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mann jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mann slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mann scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann wants to pass the guard but Crumb is keeping the position. Crumb preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Crumb is looking to sweep but instead, Mann has passed into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mann looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mann moves into full mount! Crumb won't be happy about that! Mann scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Crumb?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mann pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Mann sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Clay Mann overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mann cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Crumb misses with an uppercut. A leg kick checked by Crumb. No luck for Mann with that takedown attempt. Crumb ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mann gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Crumb. Crumb throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mann is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Crumb can do to turn this around? Mann takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Crumb misses with an uppercut. As Crumb tries to get set, Mann tries to push him back and clinch up but Crumb manages to avoid the attempt. Nice takedown defense from Crumb. No joy for Mann on that attempt. Crumb throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mann walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Mann shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crumb but Crumb pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clay Mann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Crumb throws an off balance right hand
so Mann counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mann showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann wants to control from the top but Crumb keeps moving. Mann chips away with some ground and pound. Crumb keeping moving, preventing Mann from controlling successfully. Mann pushing down on Crumb's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Mann looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sutton Crumb has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Clay Mann is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mann controlling the action here. Mann passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mann looking to control and managing it successfully. Mann has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. This is a sustained period of stalling by Mann. Mann lands a big elbow. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mann controlling the position easily from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clay Mann. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mann, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
