Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hansen (ranked 2235 p4p, 2128 weight class) and Michael Cudlitz (ranked 282 p4p, 272 weight class). Hansen comes to the cage accompanied by Black Sabbath - Iron Man. Michael Cudlitz struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Marcus Hansen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Hansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Cudlitz! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cudlitz closes the distance and clinches up with Hansen, looking for a takedown. Cudlitz pushes Hansen against the cage but Hansen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hansen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hansen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cudlitz. Cudlitz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hansen's waist but Hansen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cudlitz off to one side. Hansen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cudlitz keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully. Hansen stands up over Cudlitz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hansen prevents Cudlitz from getting back to his feet. Cudlitz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hansen won't allow Cudlitz to get back to his feet. Hansen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hansen postures up and lands a big shot to Cudlitz's brow. Hansen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cudlitz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cudlitz keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully. Hansen throws a big elbow that misses. Hansen throwing strikes from guard but Cudlitz blocks nicely. Cudlitz has momentary wrist control but Hansen slips an elbow through the middle. Hansen wants to control from the top but Cudlitz keeps moving. Hansen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cudlitz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cudlitz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cudlitz! Hansen is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hansen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cudlitz. Cudlitz throws an elbow but Hansen slips to the side and avoids it well. Cudlitz trying to control the position but Hansen is working away. Hansen is looking to reverse the position. Hansen is working hard here to advance position. Hansen is not content to let Cudlitz control the position. Cudlitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hansen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hansen on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hansen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cudlitz off and has taken his back! Hansen misses with an elbow to the head. Cudlitz trying to get back to his feet but Hansen is in full control for now. Hansen working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Hansen looking to break Cudlitz's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Cudlitz remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hansen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Cudlitz takes a big shot to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hansen connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Cudlitz to escape the position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hansen is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Cudlitz tries to escape but Hansen has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Can Cudlitz hold on?! Hansen is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Cudlitz shoots in for a takedown but Hansen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cudlitz avoids the body shot from Hansen.

Cudlitz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hansen's guard. Hansen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cudlitz puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Hansen manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hansen pulls Cudlitz in close to his closed guard and prevents Cudlitz from doing any damage or advancing position. Cudlitz wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving. Cudlitz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hansen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hansen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hansen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hansen keeping full guard, as Cudlitz tries to pass. Hansen managing to control the position. Hansen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cudlitz is looking to improve his position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cudlitz can do anything to dispel that myth. Nice strikes from Hansen there. Ground and pound from Hansen. Cudlitz is trying to stand back up but Hansen is controlling him

Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Cudlitz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hansen pinned against the cage. Hansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cudlitz gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hansen stops a takedown attempt from Cudlitz.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Hansen is pressed up against the cage. Cudlitz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hansen down to the mat. Hansen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Cudlitz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hansen lands a jab to the head.
Hansen closes the distance and clinches. Hansen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cudlitz backwards. Cudlitz blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Cudlitz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hansen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The referee calls for Hansen to work.

Hansen tries to work over Cudlitz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hansen gets underhooks to prevent Cudlitz's takedown attempt.

Hansen throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Cudlitzs head. Hansen throws a punch but it's blocked by Cudlitz. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hansen. Hansen lands a body shot in the clinch.
Hansen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Still in the clinch, Hansen scores with a nice short uppercut.

The referee is keeping an eye on Hansen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Hansen seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Hansen scores with a shot to the side of Cudlitz's head. Hansen pushes Cudlitz back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hansen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Hansen swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hansen is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hansen throws a head punch that misses. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. A head punch on the inside from Hansen fails to land. Cudlitz blocks an uppercut.
Marcus Hansen has scored more points in the clinch so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Good anti-grappling being displayed by Hansen as Cudlitz tries to tie him up. Michael Cudlitz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cudlitz jumps guard but Hansen stands there with Cudlitz around his waist. Cudlitz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Hansen showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hansen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
