Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chie Satonaka (ranked 4002 p4p, 3438 weight class) and Pavel Sova (ranked 477 p4p, 430 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Satonaka might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rayden. Chie Satonaka could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pavel Sova's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chie Satonaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pavel Sova! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sova shoots in looking for a takedown. Satonaka tries to sprawl out of it but Sova keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Satonaka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sova fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Satonaka lands a really nice looking cross but Sova seems unphased.
Satonaka clobbers Sova with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Sova takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nice body punch from Satonaka. Sova misses with a takedown attempt letting Satonaka counter with a right hand.
Sova is rocked! Chie Satonaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pavel Sova. Satonaka looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sova is still on wobbly legs! Can Satonaka finish him? Satonaka throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sova stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sova shoots in but Satonaka avoids the takedown attempt easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sova darts in looking for a takedown but Satonaka gets double underhooks and turns Sova into the cage. Sova seems to have recovered his senses. Sova looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Sova feints and as Satonaka raises his hands in defense, Sova changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sova looks winded! Satonaka wants to stand and escape but Sova is having none of it. Sova stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Satonaka swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sova drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Satonaka manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sova has Satonaka in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Satonaka wants to stand but Sova has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Satonaka stands up and waves to Sova to follow him. Satonaka throws a right hand that Sova ducks under and follows up with a left that Sova also avoids with ease. Satonaka fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Satonaka throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Sova tries for a takedown but Satonaka circles away easily letting Satonaka counter with a right hand. Satonaka throws a right hand that Sova ducks under and follows up with a left that Sova also avoids with ease. Sova will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. No luck for Sova with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Satonaka. No joy for Sova on that attempt. Sova shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Satonaka leaves Sova with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sova tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Satonaka swivels and escapes. A combination from Satonaka does no damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Satonaka works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Satonaka looks to score with a jab to the body but Sova is just out of range. Pavel Sova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sova fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Satonaka lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. It looks like Satonaka has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Sova gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Satonaka gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chie Satonaka! During a confident post fight interview, Chie Satonaka thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
