Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Dean (ranked 1411 p4p, 2137 weight class) and Nils Norling (ranked 192 p4p, 268 weight class). Norling has chosen Scarlet - Age of seduction as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nils Norling!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean missing with a left hand there. Norling was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Norling throws a series of punches but Dean avoids them all with ease.
Dean lands a jab to the head.

It looks like Nils Norling has been cut.
Dean swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Norling is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Dean is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Norling.
Norling has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dean is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Dean throws the left hand but Norling avoids the punch easily.

Norling was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

and Norling counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Norling fails to pull the fight into his guard.

We've been told by Dean's head coaches at New York Public Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Norling jumps guard but Dean stands there with Norling around his waist. Norling gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Brian Dean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nils Norling.

Norling's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dean throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Norling follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Norling tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Norling pushes Dean back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Dean manages to break the clinch.
Dean tries to bum rush Norling with a series of wild strikes but Norling uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dean stalks Norling and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Norling's face. Norling staggers backwards, shaken.

Dean wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dean tries to break the clinch but Norling is controlling the position.

Norling breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dean looks to throw the jab but Norling is out of range.
Dean takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Norling closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dean takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Dean is rocked!
Norling working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Norling misses with the ground and pound.
Dean managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Norling.

Norling wants to take a breather but Dean manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Norling.
Dean is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dean pushes Norling off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Norling clobbers Dean with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Oh Dean is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Norling lands a huge takedown. Dean is out but the ref is slow to react and Norling lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Dean lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nils Norling!
