PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Panda One (ranked 2903 p4p, 3265 weight class) and Gee Gutsu (ranked 381 p4p, 421 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Panda One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gee Gutsu!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutsu wants to clinch.
One misses with a double jab.
One ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gutsu moves away.
One misses with a wild body shot.

Gutsu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of One's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take One's back!
I really don't envy One right now.
One manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gutsu's guard. Nice work there by One.

One drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gutsu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gutsu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gutsu!

Gutsu is going oldschool here, as he tries to force One to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so One shrugs it off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gutsu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Gutsu has hold of One's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and One manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gee Gutsu will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

One misses with a straight right.
Gutsu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from One.
Gutsu tries to close the distance and clinch but One swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gutsu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but One defends it well.
One dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
One connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
One fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gutsu manages to avoid it.

Nice shot lands for One.

One gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

One has his foot on Gutsu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gutsu works his way back into a safe position though.

One is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Gutsu's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

One is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Crapollas Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Gee Gutsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

One missing with a left hand there. Gutsu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

One sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gutsu's guard.

One has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Gutsu celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
