Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Markku Koskela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petri Pikkarainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Markku Koskela has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koskela fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pikkarainen manages to avoid it.
Koskela looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Koskela tests Pikkarainen's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Koskela dips to his left and cracks Pikkarainen with an uppercut!
Pikkarainen is rocked!
Pikkarainen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Koskela.

Pikkarainen ducks straight into an uppercut from Koskela and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Pikkarainen maanges to regain guard straight away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Koskela tries to close the distance and clinch but Pikkarainen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Koskela missing with a left hand there. Pikkarainen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Some bone on bone action there as Pikkarainen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Pikkarainen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pikkarainen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Koskela, who protects the arm well.

Koskela is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Koskela is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

and Pikkarainen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pikkarainen.
Pikkarainen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pikkarainen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Pikkarainen has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Koskela is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Pikkarainen yanks on the arm and Koskela is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Pikkarainen.
