Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fabiano Martinez (ranked 3390 p4p, 6082 weight class) and Sutarjo Sukarman (ranked 422 p4p, 592 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabiano Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sutarjo Sukarman! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sukarman stuffs the takedown attempt from Martinez. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet. Martinez misses with a takedown attempt - Sukarman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Martinez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sukarman's waist but Sukarman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martinez off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabiano Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Martinez shoots in for a takedown from distance. This isn't 1993 though, so Sukarman shrugs it off. Sukarman is trying desperately to improve position. Martinez is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sukarman is surviving well by controlling Martinez's body position as best he can. Sukarman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martinez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Martinez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sukarman has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Martinez has control of Sukarman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sukarman regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Martinez is working for a kimura but Sukarman is defending it quite comfortably.

We've been informed that Sukarman has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Martinez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sukarman has managed to free his arm - good work. Martinez seems to be looking for submissions.

Fabiano Martinez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sukarman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Martinez's half guard. Sukarman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sukarman lands strikes from half guard. Martinez manages to get to full guard.
Sukarman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Martinez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sukarman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Martinez is tightening it up a little... Sukarman has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sukarman reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sukarman taps out! Nice BJJ there by Martinez!
