Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Kurt (ranked 3642 p4p, 25232 weight class) and Sonny Day (ranked 384 p4p, 660 weight class). Josh Kurt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sonny Day!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurt takes a swing at Day's ribcage but misses.
Kurt takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sonny Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Day clobbers Kurt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Day connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kurt. Kurt circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kurt definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kurt throws an overhand right that lands on Day's shoulder, as Day tries to avoid the shot.
Day misses with a two punch combination.
Day lands with an uppercut that bounces Kurt off the cage and back into range.

Day has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Day scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Day misses with a takedown attempt - Kurt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kurt throws a hook to the side of Day's head but Day sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fighters circle momentarily. Day darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Kurt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kurt lands with an uppercut that bounces Day off the cage and back into range.
Day bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kurt's head.
Day shoots in looking for a takedown. Kurt tries to sprawl out of it but Day keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kurt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kurt has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Day stuns Kurt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Day changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kurt tries to avoid it but Day manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kurt to the ground. Kurt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Day lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
