Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Godoi (ranked 42 p4p, 369 weight class) and Muchy Cartwright (ranked 7 p4p, 52 weight class). Cartwright has chosen Mauled as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Muchy Cartwright!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright forces Godoi back against the cage and clinches.
Godoi stops a takedown attempt from Cartwright.
Cartwright has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Godoi after a bit of a struggle.
Cartwright tries to land knees in the clinch but Godoi avoids the damage to the body.
Cartwright blocks an uppercut.
Cartwright pushes Godoi back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Godoi swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Cartwright is trying to trip Godoi. He has hold of a leg but Godoi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cartwright persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Cartwright tries to close the distance and clinch up but Godoi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cartwright closes this distance looking for a takedown but Godoi circles away.

Godoi looks to land a right hand but Cartwright moved out of range.
Cartwright tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Godoi defends well and Cartwright ends up having to push Godoi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Godoi counters with a nice right hand that sends Cartwright toppling to the canvas! Cartwright scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Godoi finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Godoi drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Cartwright's head, knocking him out cold! Godoi is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Guilherme Godoi!
