Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor Bird (ranked 3978 p4p, 3274 weight class) and Regal Montgomery (ranked 422 p4p, 356 weight class). Regal Montgomery has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Regal Montgomery!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Montgomery but Montgomery pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Montgomery has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Bird looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Montgomery is fending him off so far but Bird persists. Nope, Montgomery circles away and we're back to standing.
Bird looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bird misses with a low kick as Montgomery jumps back.
Bird rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Montgomery moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bird throws a hook to the side of Montgomery's head but Montgomery sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Montgomery lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bird at a distance.

Montgomery closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Montgomery lands in his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Montgomery in particular looking to stall.

Montgomery is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bird doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Montgomery.
Bird is trying to escape back to his feet but Montgomery uses the scramble to pass into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Montgomery tries to move to mount but Bird blocks the move with his legs.

Montgomery working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bird knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Montgomery on the ground.
Montgomery in side control, just content to control the action for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bird is holding Montgomery down, trying to stall.
Montgomery remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bird is trying to buck Montgomery off.
Montgomery wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bird keeps working.
Montgomery has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
