Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wade Wilson (ranked 3080 p4p, 5697 weight class) and Mason Marmot (ranked 382 p4p, 569 weight class). Mason Marmot struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 172.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mason Marmot looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marmot misses with a double jab.
Wilson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marmot .
Marmot fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wilson throws a body shot but no joy.
We've been hearing reports that Wilson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Marmot takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson tests Marmot 's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Wilson throws the left hand but Marmot avoids the punch easily.

Wilson lands a really nice looking cross but Marmot seems unphased.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wilson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Wilson scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Marmot is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Wilson can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

In his post fight interview, Wade Wilson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
