Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brett Shoenfeld (ranked 1061 p4p, 1867 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 122 p4p, 197 weight class). Frank Dux will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Shoenfeld!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux jabs Shoenfeld right on the nose. Shoenfeld blinks but takes it well.
Dux lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Shoenfeld at a distance.
Dux keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Dux throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Shoenfeld drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dux wants to control but Shoenfeld postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dux tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Shoenfeld presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Dux is squirming around, avoiding Shoenfeld's attempts to control the action.
Shoenfeld prevents Dux from getting the reversal.
Dux is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dux felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Shoenfeld tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dux knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shoenfeld seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dux does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Shoenfeld tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dux defends well and Shoenfeld ends up having to push Dux into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
As Shoenfeld backs off Dux throws a huge counter combo but Shoenfeld manages to avoid it all.

Dux throws a punch but it's blocked by Shoenfeld.
Shoenfeld fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brett Shoenfeld. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dux is trying to stall.
Shoenfeld fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Shoenfeld turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Shoenfeld wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dux, who protects the arm well.
Dux tries to buck Shoenfeld off but Shoenfeld is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dux is not content to let Shoenfeld control the position.
Shoenfeld tries to pass to full mount but Dux defends it.

Shoenfeld wants to pass the guard but Dux is defending well.
Dux is trying to control but can't.
Dux is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Shoenfeld is staying active.
Dux is staying active underneath Shoenfeld, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dux is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shoenfeld pulls his head out easily.
Dux is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shoenfeld's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shoenfeld's back!
Shoenfeld might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dux is hanging on to Shoenfeld's back as he tries to escape.
Dux is trying to stick to Shoenfeld's back but Shoenfeld is turning into Dux. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dux's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Shoenfeld.

Dux manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shoenfeld manages to get himself to full guard.

Shoenfeld looking for a triangle here. Dux is fighting it but it looks tight! Shoenfeld pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Dux is tapping out - this one is all over!
