Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lidio Noia (ranked 3742 p4p, 4384 weight class) and Clinton Clams (ranked 457 p4p, 526 weight class). Clinton Clams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lidio Noia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clinton Clams! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clams gets a double leg takedown into Noia's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Clams's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Clams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Clams content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Noia is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Clams with a flurry of punches that miss. Clams landing some decent shots from guard. Clams postures up and lands a big shot to Noia's brow. Clams with a nice head shot there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Clams won't allow Noia to get back to his feet. Clams throwing strikes but missing. Clams is looking to work some ground and pound but Noia has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clams working some strikes from top position. Clams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Noia on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Noia tries to get out of the position. Clams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Noia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Noia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Clams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Clams with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Clams scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Clams postures up in Noia's guard and throws a big left but Noia blocks it. Clams landing with the ground and pound. Noia looking to control but Clams passes into half guard.
Clams not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clams is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Noia keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Noia has hold of Clams's hands but Clams slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Clams thows a huge punch but Noia dodges it nicely.
Clams seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Clams drops an elbow to the side of Noia's head. Clams working the head and body with strikes. Clams missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Clams tries to pass the half guard into mount. Noia knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Clams seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Noia has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Clams is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clams not landing any meaningful shots this time. Noia avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Clams. Clams scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Clams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Noia's head. We've been informed that Clams has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Clams is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Clams lands with a punch from half guard. Clams throwing shots but Noia is blocking nicely. Noia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clams on the ground. Clams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Clams not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Clams winds up and cracks Noia with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Clams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Noia's head. Clams working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clams lands a nice short elbow. Noia pushes Clams off looking to stand but Clams dives back in and keeps control.
Noia tries to get to full guard but Clams has control of the leg. Clams has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Noia looks like he's trying to stand up.
Noia wants to get back to full guard. Clams is nestled in close to Noia, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Clams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Noia with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Noia trying to hold on to Clams's head to control him but Clams postures up.
Clams working over Noia with some ground and pound. Noia looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Noia looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Clams connects with a nice short shot to Noia's temple. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Clinton Clams dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Clams shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Noia defends it nicely. Clams shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Noia counters with a nice body shot. Clams misses with a takedown and Noia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lidio Noia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clinton Clams. Clams fails with the takedown and Noia counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clams tries for a takedown but Noia circles away easily and Noia counters with a stiff right hand. Noia's jab looks to have found its range, popping Clams under the eye. Clams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Noia as he avoids it easily. Noia swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Clams is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clams gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Noia gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Clams is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lidio Noia!
