Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scottie Lamez (ranked 772 p4p, 928 weight class) and Morgan Malig (ranked 47 p4p, 52 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Scottie Lamez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Morgan Malig!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamez avoids the body shot from Malig.
Lamez throws a looping overhand right but Malig ducks down to avoid it.

Lamez gets a clinch.
Lamez pressing his opponent against the cage.
Lamez misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Lamez pulls guard successfully.
Malig stays in close to Lamez's body and controls the position.
Malig trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malig controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Malig avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lamez has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Malig throws a body shot but no joy.
Lamez was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Malig tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lamez swivels and escapes.
Lamez connects with a nice looking jab.

Lamez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Malig.
A bone on bone clash there as Lamez blocks the leg kick.
Malig dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lamez looks to score with a jab to the body but Malig is just out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Malig misses the target.
Lamez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Malig forces Lamez back against the cage and clinches.

Malig decides to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lamez pushing down on Malig's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lamez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lamez in particular looking to stall.

Lamez seems to be working for a kimura but Malig defends the submission attempt.
Lamez wants to control but Malig is keeping him busy.

Lamez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Malig is just riding it out for now. Lamez eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lamez is looking for a kimura but Malig is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lamez to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Malig works his way to full guard. Good work.
Malig looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lamez is one step ahead there.

Malig working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lamez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lamez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Malig isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lamez stacks Malig on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lamez!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Malig moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Malig darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Malig in particular looking to stall.
Lamez tries to roll over but Malig keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lamez is fighting to break Malig's control of his arms but Malig is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Malig bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lamez's guard.

Lamez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Morgan Malig showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Lamez checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lamez tries to close the distance and clinch but Malig swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Malig uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lamez.
Malig misses the shot to the body.
Lamez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Malig fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Malig swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Malig has taken the fight to the clinch.

Malig has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lamez uses from the top position.
Malig is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lamez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lamez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Malig tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scottie Lamez.
I think Lamez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
