Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Lee (ranked 1396 p4p, 902 weight class) and Tama Ruiha (ranked 191 p4p, 124 weight class). Ruiha comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Polynesian Traditional Music kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tama Ruiha will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Tama Ruiha! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ruiha is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Ruiha circles away and we're back to standing. Lee fails with the takedown. Lee gets the takedown into side control. Lee is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ruiha knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ruiha managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lee.
Ruiha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee happy to just control the position for now. We've been hearing good reports from Lee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ruiha has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Ruiha's face as Lee controls the position. Ruiha manages to get back to half guard. Lee is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ruiha sees it coming and defends easily. Lee with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ruiha tries to roll over but Lee keeps him under control. Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ruiha keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ruiha blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee is trying to work for a kimura but Ruiha is defending well.
Ruiha wants to get back to full guard. Lee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ruiha doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lee. Lee works his way into full mount! Lee is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ruiha to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ruiha shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee working the ground and pound effectively.
Lee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Lee with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Ruiha tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee looking for a guillotine from mount but Ruiha is having none of it. Ruiha takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Lee lands with some strikes. Lee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Ruiha tries to lock up and control but Lee gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lee working Ruiha over with strikes here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ruiha gets back to half guard. Lee looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ruiha on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Robert Lee dominated that round. That's time! Lee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Lee shoots in looking for a takedown. Ruiha tries to sprawl out of it but Lee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ruiha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lee tries to clinch but Ruiha is having none of it. Ruiha's coach down at London MMA Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ruiha's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Ruiha throws a good cross that connects.
Robert Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ruiha lands a head shot.
It looks like Robert Lee has been cut. Lee throws a head kick that misses and Ruiha counters with a big right hand! Oh Lee is in trouble here! Ruiha follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tama Ruiha! Our winner, Tama Ruiha, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
