Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Jay (ranked 6306 p4p, 4623 weight class) and Rudy Cupal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Jay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Jay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rudy Cupal! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cupal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jay somewhat. Jay tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cupal swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jay moves in looking to clinch but Cupal pushes him off. Jay takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jay on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cupal. Cupal obviously looking to wear him down.
Cupal with the inside leg kick. Jay shoots in looking for a takedown but Cupal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jay's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Jay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cupal fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jay.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jay tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cupal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cupal connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Cupal looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
King Jay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oooooh!!! Cupal has knocked Jay down with a huge combo! Cupal steps away and waves a wobbly Jay back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like King Jay has been cut. Cupal scores with a leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jay fails in his attempt to clinch. A combination from Cupal does no damage. Nice defenses there by Cupal. Jay misses with a takedown attempt and Cupal counters with a crisp one two that drops Jay! Cupal thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Jay to his feet! Jay is in big trouble! Oh Jay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Cupal turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Cupal lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Jay backs away from a small jab... but Cupal lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Jay crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Cupal with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Rudy Cupal!
