Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Dude (ranked 3760 p4p, 4315 weight class) and Jhonny Lait (ranked 75 p4p, 84 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, The Dude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jhonny Lait!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lait gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dude counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Dude drags the fight down to the ground.

Dude kicks Lait off and gets to his feet.

Dude closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Dude decides to pull guard.
Dude manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lait manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dude controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lait looking for a sweep. Not yet Lait, not yet.
Dude's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Lait is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dude content to stall in guard here.
Lait is looking to sweep but instead, Dude has passed into half guard.
Lait controlling the position for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lait can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dude escapes and gets back to his feet.

Dude forces Lait back against the cage and clinches.

Dude throws an elbow that misses.
Lait tries to pull guard but Dude forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lait working hard to break the clinch.
Dude is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dude goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lait prevents it.
Dude managing to block the knees to the body from Lait.
Dude has Lait pressed against the cage, preventing Lait from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dude jumps guard and drags Lait to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dude will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Dude is trying to control the position but Lait postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lait is fighting to break Dude's control of his arms but Dude is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Dude looking for a guillotine here but Lait defends easily.
Dude is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Dude has his feet on Lait's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

No luck for Dude with that takedown attempt.
Lait tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dude swivels and escapes.
The Dude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jhonny Lait.
Lait does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A little feinted left hand from Dude on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Lait is looking for the big counter here.
Dude tries to clinch up but Lait circles away and keeps his distance.
Dude moves in looking to clinch but Lait pushes him off.
Lait is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dude gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lait decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dude's guard.
Lait must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dude looking for a sweep. Not yet Dude, not yet.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dude tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lait paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lait tries for a takedown but Dude sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dude throws a leg kick that misses.
Jhonny Lait seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dude moves in looking to clinch but Lait pushes him off.

Lait shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lait showed some decent athleticism there.
Dude is looking to get back to is feet but Lait passes into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dude manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Dude is looking to control Lait's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dude avoid being mounted?
Lait wants to pass the guard but Dude is defending well.

Lait slows the pace down in half guard.

Lait is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dude is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lait's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lait's back!

Dude is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lait defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Dude has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lait has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Lait is trying to get back to his feet but Dude has full control of the position and if anything, Lait has just worked his way into a worse spot.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lait tries to roll but Dude sticks to his back.
Dude tries to get the hooks in deep but Lait pushed the leg off.
Dude throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Lait is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Dude.

Dude is persistently looking for the submission but Lait is defending it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lait is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The Dude dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Dude keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lait fails with the takedown.
Lait looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dude is fending him off so far but Lait persists. Nope, Dude circles away and we're back to standing.
The Dude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jhonny Lait.

Dude manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lait keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Lait is looking to advance position but Dude has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dude prevents Lait from getting the reversal.
Dude looking to control but Lait is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dude working the ground and pound effectively.
Dude controlling from mount.
Lait tries to lock up and control but Dude gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dude sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The Dude overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dude can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lait is looking to escape.
Dude throwing strikes here but Lait is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Dude get's back to his feet.
Dude is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lait can do to turn this around?
Dude darts in looking for a takedown but Lait gets double underhooks and turns Dude into the cage.

Lait pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lait scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Dude clinches up against the cage.

Dude ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dude no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dude pulls Lait in close to prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dude is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dude manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lait manages to get himself to full guard.


Dude is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dude wants to control from the top but Lait keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dude decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Nice uppercut lands for Dude. That snapped Lait's head back.
Lait throws a nice looking combination but Dude bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lait pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dude avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dude fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
The Dude showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dude, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
