Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Diaz (ranked 356 p4p, 321 weight class) and Potemkin Izmaylov (ranked 57 p4p, 49 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Potemkin Izmaylov!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Izmaylov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Diaz.
A leg kick checked by Diaz.
Izmaylov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Izmaylov as he jumps to the side.
Izmaylov takes a swing at Diaz's ribcage but misses.
Izmaylov lands with a hook. Diaz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Izmaylov moves out of range as Diaz strikes.
Izmaylov misses with a low kick.
Izmaylov misses with a body shot.
Izmaylov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Diaz has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Rubber Guard Emporium in the buildup to the fight.
Izmaylov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Diaz half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slapping leg kick lands for Izmaylov.
Izmaylov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Izmaylov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz attempts a counter takedown but Izmaylov avoids it well and moves away.
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diaz darts in looking for a takedown but Izmaylov gets double underhooks and turns Diaz into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz wants the takedown. Izmaylov is fighting it off but Diaz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Izmaylov's guard against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Izmaylov tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg.
Izmaylov is trying to stand up here but Diaz is controlling him well.
Diaz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Izmaylov is concentrating on defense, preventing Diaz from advancing position.

Diaz seems to be looking for submissions.
Izmaylov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Izmaylov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Izmaylov is controlling Diaz's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Diaz throwing shots but Izmaylov is blocking nicely.
Diaz is working for a kimura but Izmaylov is defending it quite comfortably.
Diaz thows a huge punch but Izmaylov dodges it nicely.

Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Diaz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Izmaylov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Diaz!
