The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington lands with an overhand left.
Kocak displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Washington throws out the jab.
Kocak jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Kocak throws a nice looking combination but Washington bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kocak is looking to chop away at Washington's legs.
Kocak avoids the body shot from Washington.
Washington throws a sloppy head kick
and Kocak counters with a stiff right hand.
Kocak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Washington moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Washington lands with a hook. Kocak tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Washington misses with an uppercut.

Kocak tries to close the distance and clinch but Washington swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kocak drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Kocak counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kocak uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Washington.
Kocak moves out of range of the body kick.
Kocak lets loose with a powerful body kick. Washington will feel that in the morning.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Washington throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kocak makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Washington really felt that one!
Kocak lands with a hook. Washington tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kocak drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Washington manages to break the clinch.

and Washington connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Imperial Washington will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Washington in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Kocak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Washington paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Washington on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kocak. Kocak obviously looking to wear him down.
Kocak uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Washington.
Kocak lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Washington digs a good body shot into Kocak's ribs.

and Washington counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Kocak tries to land a front kick but Washington steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Washington steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Kocak misses the shot to the body.
Imperial Washington seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kocak tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Washington manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Washington misses with an uppercut. Kocak saw that one coming.
Kocak went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Both fighters circling a little - Washington finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Kocak counters with a stiff right hand.

Washington scores with a kick to the midsection.
Washington lands with an uppercut that bounces Kocak off the cage and back into range.
Washington scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Washington drops Kocak with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kocak looks back up at him and smiles so Washington waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Kocak is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Washington tries to bum rush Kocak with a series of wild strikes but Kocak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kocak appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Washington cracks Kocak with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Washington has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kocak to stand back up!
Oh Kocak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Washington throws a lazy right hand but Kocak sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kocak half committed to a counter leg kick.
Kocak seems to have got his legs back now.

Washington sends Kocak crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Washington is motioning to the referee to let Kocak up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Kocak tries to get into range but Washington steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Kocak! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Washington scores the big KO victory!
