Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaquan Woods!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Peterson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Peterson misses with a hook.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Peterson checks a leg kick.
Woods defending well as Peterson loads up on a big left hand.

Woods slips under a jab from Peterson.
Woods turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peterson dives in for a single leg takedown but Woods sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

We've been hearing that Peterson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Peterson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Woods seems keen to control Peterson's posture.

Woods is pulling down on Peterson's head. It's preventing any offense from Peterson, at least for the moment.

Woods working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woods lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Peterson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Peterson wants to take a breather but Woods is having none of it.

Peterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Woods is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Peterson.

Woods bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Peterson's head backwards.
Woods takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Woods gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Peterson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Peterson is in close to Woods's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Peterson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Dylan Peterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woods swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Peterson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Peterson sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Woods doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Peterson paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Woods - great work!
