Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Issac Van Houtten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Van Buren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Houtten comes into the arena with AFI - Miss Murder blaring out of the sound system. Van Buren has chosen the fall of troy - laces out, dan! as his entrance music. Matt Van Buren has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Issac Van Houtten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Van Buren! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Houtten misses with a head kick.
Van Buren tries to close the distance and clinch but Van Houtten swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Van Houtten closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Van Buren's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Van Buren fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Van Buren is looking to clinch but Van Houtten is avoiding it.

It looks like Matt Van Buren has been cut. Van Houtten clinches but Van Buren breaks the clinch and Van Buren holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Van Houtten misses with a knee strike.

Van Houtten jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Van Buren walks away with a smile on his face. Van Houtten gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Houtten scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. You can see the frustration on Van Buren's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Van Houtten tries to advance to mount but Van Buren denies him. Van Houtten in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Van Houtten is trying to get an arm triangle but Van Buren is defending well. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. You can see the frustration on Van Buren's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Buren might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Van Houtten kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Van Buren tries to bench press Van Houtten off him but Van Houtten keeps the position. Van Houtten wants to control but Van Buren is keeping him busy.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Van Houtten pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Van Buren ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Van Buren no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Van Houtten throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Buren wants to sweep but no luck. Van Buren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Van Houtten doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Van Houtten manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Van Houtten passes Van Buren's left leg - he's now in half guard. Van Houtten is trying to control. Van Buren wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A low kick from Van Houtten is predictable there and Van Buren counters into the clinch. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Van Houtten is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Van Buren gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Van Buren has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Van Houtten avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Van Houtten throws a knee to the head but misses.

Issac Van Houtten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Van Buren. Van Buren is breathing heavily. Van Buren escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Van Houtten really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Van Houtten gets a takedown into half guard. Van Buren is refusing to be controlled, as Van Houtten sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Houtten wants to free his trapped foot but Van Buren is holding on for dear life with his legs. Van Houtten is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Van Houtten is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Buren tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Van Houtten has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Van Houtten prevents Van Buren from getting the reversal. Van Houtten controlling from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Van Buren avoids a strike by Van Houtten and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Van Houtten's guard! Fantastic escape!

Issac Van Houtten dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Matt Van Buren's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Van Houtten shoots in for a double leg but Van Buren sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Van Buren shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Van Houtten counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Buren won't be happy with that. Van Houtten is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Van Buren is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Van Houtten is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Van Buren will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Van Houtten trying to control the position but Van Buren is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Houtten tries to advance to mount but Van Buren denies him. Van Houtten controls the position. Van Buren wants to get back to his feet. Van Houtten wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Buren, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Van Buren tries to get back to half guard but can't. Van Buren is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Van Houtten is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Van Houtten looking for a guillotine from mount but Van Buren is having none of it. Van Houtten trying to control but Van Buren is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Buren tries to lock up and control but Van Houtten gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Van Houtten can't control as he wanted to and Van Buren manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Matt Van Buren has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Issac Van Houtten is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Van Buren scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Van Houtten manages to mount him!
Van Houtten avoids the attempt from Van Buren to control. Van Buren is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Issac Van Houtten showed his dominance in that final round. Well Van Houtten has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
