Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jerry Jankens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Elinho Mineiro!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mineiro closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mineiro pressing his opponent against the cage.

Jankens successfully pulls guard.
Mineiro looking to pass the guard.
Mineiro keeps trying to improve his position.
Mineiro trying to control but Jankens is working from the bottom.
Mineiro is pushing down on Jankens's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jankens is fighting to maintain full guard but Mineiro has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mineiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jankens does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mineiro is trying to work for a kimura but Jankens is defending well.

Mineiro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jankens doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mineiro.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jankens is in trouble now - Mineiro has advanced to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mineiro prevents Jankens from getting the reversal.

Mineiro is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jankens to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jankens shrugs it off.

Mineiro working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Mineiro moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jankens has worked his arm free - good work by Jankens!

Mineiro has hold of Jankens's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Jankens seems comfortable defending it but Mineiro has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Jankens is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Jankens is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mineiro couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Elinho Mineiro!
