Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Desi Kraag (ranked 1867 p4p, 2618 weight class) and Klaus Chugman (ranked 62 p4p, 53 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Desi Kraag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chugman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kraag to the ground. Chugman is now in Kraag's guard.

Kraag is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chugman is aware though and is defending well.

Kraag isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Chugman stacks Kraag on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Chugman!
Kraag wants to control but Chugman postures up.
Kraag is looking for a sweep.

Chugman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kraag is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kraag is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chugman is just riding it out for now. Kraag eventually gives up the hold.
Chugman won't allow Kraag to pass to mount.

Kraag is working for a submission of some sort.
Chugman is refusing to be controlled, as Kraag sits in half guard.
Chugman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chugman.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kraag is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chugman is just riding it out for now. Kraag eventually gives up the hold.

Klaus Chugman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Chugman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kraag in his tracks.
Chugman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kraag.
Kraag connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Chugman shoots for a double leg takedown but Kraag sprawls well. He's pushed Chugman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chugman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Chugman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kraag tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chugman was well out of range. Poor timing from Kraag.
Kraag throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chugman.

Chugman drives through and clinches with Kraag against the cage.
Kraag is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Chugman is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kraag is keeping busy.

Chugman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kraag had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chugman defends it easily.

Kraag has his foot on Chugman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chugman works his way back into a safe position though.

Kraag tries to roll over but Chugman keeps him under control.
Kraag has hold of Chugman's hands but Chugman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Chugman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kraag defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kraag ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chugman moves away.
Kraag dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Chugman moves into range and clinches up with Kraag.
The referee is keeping an eye on Chugman - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
I was talking to Kraag's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kraag fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Chugman has Kraag pressed against the cage, preventing Kraag from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Chugman is pushing Kraag up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Chugman has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Kraag seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Chugman can turn it around.

Chugman has Kraag pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Chugman pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kraag tumbling to the mat - Chugman dives into Kraag's guard.
