Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Esteban Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heat Wave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wave has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Esteban Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heat Wave! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wave stuffs the takedown. Wave looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Batista darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wave avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Batista. Batista lands with a punch from half guard. Batista prevents Wave from improving his position. Wave on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Wave is trying to get back to full guard. Batista winds up and cracks Wave with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Wave keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wave looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Batista lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wave looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wave actively working from the bottom here. Batista lands with a punch from half guard. Wave is looking to improve his position.
Nice strikes from Batista there. Batista working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Batista lands strikes from half guard. Batista working Wave over with strikes. Wave flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Batista is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Wave wants to control but Batista is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wave is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Batista missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Batista is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Batista passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wave! Wave tries to hold on but Batista pushes him away. Batista lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Batista blocks Wave's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Batista lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Batista landing strikes from the mount and Wave is in trouble! Batista scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Wave?
Wave throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Wave tries to hold on but Batista pushes him away. Batista landing strikes from the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wave tries to lock up and control but Batista gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wave working to try and regain half guard.
Wave manages to regain half guard. Good work. Wave keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Batista thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wave works his way to full guard. Good work. Batista throws a big right hand that misses. Wave looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wave is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Wave looking for a guillotine here but Batista defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wave is trying to control the position but Batista postures up. Batista keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wave's head. Batista lands a couple of decent looking shots. Batista could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Batista works over Wave with some ground and pound from guard. Batista lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Wave has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Batista can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Batista throwing strikes but missing. Wave has his foot on Batista's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Batista works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Esteban Batista dominated that round. The cut man is working on Heat Wave's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Wave doesn't succeed with the takedown and Batista counters with a shoot takedown. Wave fights it but they end up in guard. Wave not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wave utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wave is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Batista has his hands clasped together but Wave extends an breaks Batista's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Wave.
