PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dzastins Vilums (ranked 2422 p4p, 2367 weight class) and Brook Anderson (ranked 281 p4p, 274 weight class). Brook Anderson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson closes the distance and clinches.

Vilums is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Anderson can't fight it off and eventually Vilums manages to take the fight to the floor. Anderson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Vilums drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Vilums off! Vilums jumps back into Anderson's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vilums trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Vilums has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Anderson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vilums yanks on the arm and Anderson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vilums.
