Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Doober!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matheus Furriel!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doober ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Furriel has his takedown stuffed
and Doober connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Furriel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doober is trying to stand up here but Furriel is controlling him well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Furriel connects with a nice short shot to Doober's temple.
Doober wants to get back to his feet.
Furriel is keen to just control but Doober is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doober pushes Furriel off, looking to escape but Furriel dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Doober is forced to tap! The fight is over!
