PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Kindbom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kindbom has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Tommy Mac will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Kindbom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kindbom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kindbom looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mac connects with a nice short shot to Kindbom's temple.

Mac gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Mac closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mac decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kindbom to his feet.
Mac shoots in and drives through. Kindbom sprawls well.
Mac changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kindbom tries to avoid it but Mac manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kindbom to the ground. Kindbom escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mac moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Mac gets a clinch.
Kindbom tries to pull guard but Mac won't allow it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mac tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kindbom just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mac is trying to stall.

Mac is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kindbom pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mac jumps into guard, dragging Kindbom to the mat.

Mac is looking for a triangle but Kindbom pushes his legs off easily.

Mac escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kindbom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kindbom tries to clinch but Mac moves out of range.

Kindbom is looking to control Mac's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kindbom avoid being mounted?

Mac thows a big elbow that misses.

Kindbom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mac doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mac manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kindbom kicks Mac off and gets to his feet.

Horrible takedown by Mac or perhaps it was just good defense by Kindbom which made him look bad.
Mac shoots in but no luck this time.
Kindbom blocks a head kick by Mac.
Kindbom shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mac pinned against the cage. Mac gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mac fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kindbom sprawls well initially but Mac persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mac wants to control but Kindbom is keeping him busy.

Mac throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Kindbom is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mac can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Kindbom swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mac is now in Kindbom's guard. A big mistake from Kindbom there, giving up the dominant position!

Kindbom had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mac is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kindbom Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mac's back instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mac rolls, trying to escape but Kindbom keeps control of the position.
Kindbom is looking to control Mac but Mac is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Kindbom is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Mac won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Kindbom off his unconscious opponent!
