PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sauvage Thibodeaux (ranked 1362 p4p, 2231 weight class) and Chuck Roast (ranked 205 p4p, 311 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sauvage Thibodeaux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Roast!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thibodeaux moves in looking to clinch but Roast pushes him off.
Roast swats away the attempt to clinch by Thibodeaux.

Thibodeaux gets the takedown into side control.
Thibodeaux looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Roast is avoiding damage well.
Thibodeaux has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Thibodeaux is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Thibodeaux tries to advance to mount but Roast denies him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roast tries to improve position but can't.
Roast parries the strikes from Thibodeaux easily there. Thibodeaux is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Roast to escape.

Roast really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thibodeaux. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Roast felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Roast is trying to control Thibodeaux's posture but Thibodeaux avoids it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Thibodeaux walks into a straight right hand from Roast.
Thibodeaux takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Roast connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Thibodeaux tries to clinch there but Roast circles away.
Thibodeaux moves in looking to clinch but Roast pushes him off.
Thibodeaux is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Roast misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Roast breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Thibodeaux fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Roast is fighting off a takedown attempt but Thibodeaux is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Roast to the mat. Roast regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Thibodeaux is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That was a close round but I would say that Sauvage Thibodeaux will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Thibodeaux tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roast swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Roast lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Thibodeaux ducks right into an uppercut from Roast.
Roast lands with an uppercut that bounces Thibodeaux off the cage and back into range.

Roast is trying to maintain the position but Thibodeaux is very close to passing his half guard.

Well, if Thibodeaux is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Roast is in trouble now - Thibodeaux has advanced to mount!

Thibodeaux is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Roast has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Roast wants to control but Thibodeaux is having none of it.
Thibodeaux can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Roast is looking to escape.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roast can do anything to dispel that myth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Thibodeaux tries to control but Roast wriggling away.
Roast is bucking up trying to escape but Thibodeaux cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Thibodeaux lands a couple of good shots and Roast has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Nice uppercut lands for Roast. That snapped Thibodeaux's head back.

Thibodeaux has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roast is working away from the top position though.

Thibodeaux seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Roast for as long as he can get away with.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Thibodeaux has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

I would just about give that final round to Chuck Roast.
