The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tam swats away the attempt to clinch by Torres.
Tam changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Torres checks a leg kick nicely.
Torres lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Peetu Tam has been cut.

Peetu Tam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Torres counters with a straight right hand.

Tam feints and then cracks Torres's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Torres down.
Torres closes the distance and pushes Tam back into the ropes.

I was talking to Torres's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Torres scores with a shoulder strike.

That has opened up Peetu Tam's cut even more.

Torres dips a shoulder and cracks Tam with a mighty uppercut! Tam falls back against the ropes and Torres unloads with a barrage of strikes! Tam is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Torres screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
