Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Alves (ranked 4644 p4p, 4625 weight class) and Tadao Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tadao Sato! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sato tries to close the distance and clinch but Alves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Alves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Alves postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sato throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Alves is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. A big right from Sato misses. Sato is looking to clinch. Sato scores with a nice right hand.
Sato scores with a takedown into Alves's guard. Alves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sato gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Alves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sato. Sato throwing strikes but missing. Sato must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Alves keeping full guard, as Sato tries to pass. Alves is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sato missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alves works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Alves has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sato doesn't defend quickly enough and Alves has managed to lock this one up! Can Sato escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Alves on a fantastic submission victory.
