The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns scores with a nice head shot.
Johns swings for the body but Barron moves out of range.
Johns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barron was well out of range. Poor timing from Johns.
Barron tries to counter with a clinch but Johns shakes him off and moves away.

Johns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barron, pushing him back against the cage.
Barron tries to throw a body punch but Johns avoids it by throwing Barron back against the cage.
Johns landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Barron breaks from the clinch.
Johns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Barron uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johns.
Barron swings for the body but Johns moves out of range.
Johns has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Johns throws a body punch but Barron moves out of range.
Barron scores with a sloppy right hand. Johns should have avoided that one.
Johns just misses with a punch to the body.
Barron is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Johns with a body shot.
Johns wants to clinch up but Barron keeps it at a distance.
A countering left hand to the body from Barron misses.
Johns ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Johns is looking to wear down Barron with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

The fight stays on the outside here - Johns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Barron throws a body shot but no joy.

Barron darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Johns thows a leg kick but Barron checks it
and Barron counters with a series of strikes. Johns will be more careful next time no doubt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johns takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barron ducks under a wild hook from Johns.

Barron instigates a clinch.
Johns trying to control the position but instead, Barron has worked for underhooks and has pushed Johns into the cage.
Johns blocks a body shot from Barron.
Barron lands a hook that snaps the head of Johns backwards.

Johns pulls guard.
Johns has a closed guard, preventing Barron from standing up.

Barron wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Johns's closed guard. He's half up but Johns has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Johns pivots and extends the arm, Barron falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Johns! Well done that man!
