Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brent Jackson (ranked 6308 p4p, 6787 weight class) and Victor Jones (ranked 635 p4p, 660 weight class). Brent Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brent Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Victor Jones!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Jones.
Jackson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jackson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Brent Jackson has been cut.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jones looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jones has picked Jackson up and slammed him! Jackson can't keep hold of the triangle and Jones manages to pass to side control!
Jackson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Jones looks up at the clock and then as Jackson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jackson is trying to improve his position.
Jackson is not content to let Jones control the position.
Jones lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jackson is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
Jones throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Brent Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson throws a jab when Jones was well out of range.

Jones clinches up with Jackson and pushes him back against the cage.

Jackson breaks the clinch.
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Jackson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Jackson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jackson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jackson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Jones darts in and clinches Jackson up against the cage.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice shot lands for Jackson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Jones throws out a counter right but Jackson avoids it with no problem.
Jackson lands with a right that hurts Jones. Jones looks to clinch but Jackson throws a short knee that drops Jones. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Brent Jackson!
During a confident post fight interview, Brent Jackson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
