Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krigor Orlov (ranked 839 p4p, 1387 weight class) and Douglas Sampson (ranked 129 p4p, 203 weight class). Orlov comes to the cage accompanied by Мы Русские...С нами Бог. The crowd seem to be enjoying Sampson's choice of entrance music: Sunshine (ft. Anthony Hamilton) - Twista . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Krigor Orlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orlov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sampson counters with a stiff right hand.
Orlov tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Sampson counters with a big uppercut that knocks Orlov off his feet! Sampson dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Krigor Orlov has been cut.
Orlov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Orlov tries to get out of the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Orlov is trying to improve his position.

Orlov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sampson quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd cheers as Sampson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Orlov doesn't seem phased though.
Orlov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Krigor Orlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Orlov is looking to clinch.
Orlov tries for a takedown but Sampson circles away easily
and Sampson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Orlov moves out of range of the strikes.
Orlov fails with the takedown
letting Sampson counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krigor Orlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sampson misses with a lunging right hand

and Orlov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Orlov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sampson's head.
Orlov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Sampson tries to kick Orlov off but Orlov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sampson has hold of Orlov's hands but Orlov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Douglas Sampson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Krigor Orlov's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Orlov dives in and grabs Sampson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sampson pushes down on Orlov's head and hops out.
Orlov shoots for a takedown but Sampson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sampson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Sampson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Orlov takes one to the side of the head.
Sampson lands a body shot.
Orlov shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krigor Orlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sampson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Orlov misses with a takedown attempt - Sampson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Sampson and Orlov goes tumbling to the canvas! Sampson follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sampson in particular looking to stall.

Sampson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Sampson is looking to pass Orlov's guard but actually Orlov recovers to full guard.
Sampson stays in close to Orlov's body and controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sampson won't allow Orlov to sweep him here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

and Sampson scores with a counter punch that sends Orlov to the canvas! Sampson smells blood - he's punishing Orlov with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Orlov has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Douglas Sampson!
