The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose throws a looping overhand right but Short ducks down to avoid it.
Rose takes a swing at Short's ribcage but misses.
Nice shot lands for Rose.
Rose misses with a lunging right hand
and Short counters with a takedown into side control.
Short wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rose, who protects the arm well.
Short wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rose keeps working.
Short is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rose is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Short staying calm.

Short has hold of Rose's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Rose tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Short cranks the arm and Rose screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Rose, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
