Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Youssef Alaoui (ranked 2497 p4p, 1163 weight class) and Darwin Zambrano (ranked 336 p4p, 175 weight class). Darwin Zambrano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Youssef Alaoui! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darwin Zambrano! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alaoui pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zambrano looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Zambrano displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alaoui throws out the jab. Alaoui thows a leg kick but Zambrano checks it and Zambrano counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Zambrano misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alaoui throwing a counter right hand but Zambrano manages to avoid it. Zambrano closes the distance but Alaoui moves to the side and Alaoui counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Alaoui. Alaoui blocks a head kick by Zambrano.
Zambrano rushes Alaoui and presses him up against the cage. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zambrano has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Alaoui. Zambrano can't find room to land a body shot as Alaoui controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Zambrano. Alaoui working some nice short punches in the clinch. Zambrano prevents a body shot from Alaoui. Alaoui trying to stall but Zambrano improves his position.
Alaoui lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Zambrano wants the takedown. Alaoui is fighting it off but Zambrano persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Alaoui's guard against the cage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alaoui keeping moving, preventing Zambrano from controlling successfully. Alaoui has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Zambrano postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Zambrano trying to control but Alaoui is working from the bottom. Zambrano advances position into side control! Zambrano is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Alaoui looks calm but he's in trouble here. Zambrano gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Alaoui is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Zambrano lets go of the hold and Alaoui can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Darwin Zambrano! A less than humble Darwin Zambrano misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
