Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nickolas Diaz (ranked 5790 p4p, 2846 weight class) and Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Gangsta's Paradise. Shields is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Seven Nation Army. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nickolas Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Shields! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shields throws out the jab. Shields throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. As Shields tries to get set, Diaz tries to push him back and clinch up but Shields manages to avoid the attempt. Shields lands with an overhand left. Diaz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown but Shields manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Diaz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Shields scores with a body shot.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shields sprawls well. Shields wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet. Diaz dodges the punch combination from Shields.
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shields's waist but Shields gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nickolas Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Some wild striking there from Shields.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shields turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Shields lands a big right hand that sends Diaz crashing to the mat! Shields stays standing though and waves Diaz back to his feet!
Diaz is rocked! Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shields circles away. A countering left hand to the body from Shields misses. Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Shields lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Diaz out cold! Diaz is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jake Shields! Jake Shields decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. Nickolas Diaz spoke after the fight, saying 'Im not trying to hate on nobody. I love everybody that works towards what I was working towards. It's a hard game, it's a hard life'.
