The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandito throws an off balance right hand
and Masvidal counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A slow jab from Masvidal misses its intended target.
Bandito changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Masvidal throws an overhand right that lands on Bandito's shoulder, as Bandito tries to avoid the shot.
Masvidal swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nate Masvidal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Masvidal, as that shot connected.
Bandito bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Masvidal's corner calls for a 1-2. Masvidal obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Masvidal instigates a clinch.
Masvidal pushes Bandito back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Bandito throws a head punch that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bandito tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Masvidal's elbow.

Masvidal manages to break the clinch.
Bandito swats away the attempt to clinch by Masvidal.
Bandito throws an off balance right hand
and Masvidal counters with a straight right hand.
Masvidal missing with a left hand there. Bandito was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Bandito on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Masvidal misses with a looping right.
Bandito is looking to clinch but Masvidal is avoiding it.
Masvidal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bandito at a distance.
Masvidal misses with a looping left.
The fighters circle momentarily. Masvidal darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Masvidal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bandito takes one on the button.
Bandito steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Masvidal.

Masvidal clinches up with Bandito and pushes him back against the cage.

Bandito has clasped his hands together around Masvidal's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Masvidal wants to get back to his feet but Bandito is dominant here and he's now got Masvidal's back!
Masvidal is in bad spot here.

What can Masvidal do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Masvidal trying to control the hands but Bandito won't let him.
Masvidal is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Well, with Bandito on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Masvidal is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Masvidal is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Masvidal is trying to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bandito biding his time, controlling Masvidal.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Masvidal dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bandito shoots in but no luck this time.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Masvidal!

It looks like Enamorado Bandito has been cut.
Masvidal cracks Bandito with an open hand slap.

Masvidal moves into the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Masvidal as the two fighters clinch.
Masvidal scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Masvidal lands a shoulder strike.

Bandito is rocked!
Bandito stalls.
Bandito is still on wobbly legs! Can Masvidal finish him?
Masvidal lands with a left to the head.

Masvidal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Masvidal throws a big shot that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Masvidal rushes Bandito and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Bandito is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Masvidal piles on the pressure and Bandito crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Nate Masvidal decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
