Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Einar Kyrvänsyylä!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wanderlei Rua!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyrvänsyylä misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kyrvänsyylä feints a jab promting Rua to slip. Kyrvänsyylä then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rua slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Wanderlei Rua has been cut.
Kyrvänsyylä looks to land a left hand but Rua moved out of range nicely.
A swing and a miss from Rua.
As Rua looks to move away, Kyrvänsyylä throws a big counter combo but Rua just gets out of the way.
The crowd cheers as Rua lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kyrvänsyylä doesn't seem phased though.
Rua attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Rua looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wanderlei Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua throws the left hand but Kyrvänsyylä avoids the punch easily.
Rua misses with a looping left.
It looked like Kyrvänsyylä was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Rua misses with a body shot.
Kyrvänsyylä lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rua circles away quickly and effectively.
Rua's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kyrvänsyylä connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rua scrambles back to his feet.
Rua lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kyrvänsyylä misses with a two punch combination.
Rua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kyrvänsyylä moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jab by Rua.
Rua jabs Kyrvänsyylä right on the nose. Kyrvänsyylä blinks but takes it well.
Kyrvänsyylä moves away from the strike by Rua.
Kyrvänsyylä throws a right and a left that both miss.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rua checks a leg kick.
Rua jabs at Kyrvänsyylä's body.
Rua sends Kyrvänsyylä crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Rua is motioning to the referee to let Kyrvänsyylä up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Kyrvänsyylä is rocked!
Kyrvänsyylä looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Kyrvänsyylä out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Wanderlei Rua!
Wanderlei Rua decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
