Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Irrawaddy (ranked 718 p4p, 927 weight class) and Bill Newton (ranked 17 p4p, 22 weight class). Irrawaddy comes to the cage accompanied by Laos Rules!. Bill Newton will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Irrawaddy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 39 - 27 - 5, fighting out of Tokyo, Bill Newton! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Irrawaddy sprawls well initially but Newton persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Irrawaddy is looking to control Newton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Irrawaddy avoid being mounted? Irrawaddy wants to get back to full guard. Newton seems to be working for a kimura but Irrawaddy defends the submission attempt. Newton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Newton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Newton works his foot free and advances to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Newton looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newton with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Newton jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Irrawaddy manages to avoid the submission attempt. Irrawaddy is looking to reverse the position. Newton avoids the strikes from the bottom by Irrawaddy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Newton tries for an arm triangle. Irrawaddy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Newton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Newton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Irrawaddy, who protects the arm well. Irrawaddy manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newton is not content to let Irrawaddy control the position. Newton is pressing down on Irrawaddy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Newton has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Irrawaddy doesn't defend quickly enough and Newton has managed to lock this one up! Can Irrawaddy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Newton on a fantastic submission victory.
