PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Monty Sioux (ranked 4124 p4p, 4129 weight class) and Richard Mesquita (ranked 440 p4p, 441 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita misses with a takedown
and Sioux counters with a left to the body.

Mesquita throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sioux was covering up waiting for the punch and Mesquita finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mesquita is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mesquita takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Mesquita slips a nice elbow through Sioux's hands, connecting with Sioux's forehead.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mesquita connects with a nice short shot to Sioux's temple.
