Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damen Mayer (ranked 2781 p4p, 3764 weight class) and Nathan Wallace (ranked 285 p4p, 355 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damen Mayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wallace throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Damen Mayer has been cut.
Wallace digs a good hook to Mayer's body.
Wallace's coach down at Punch Out Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wallace's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Mayer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mayer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wallace was well out of range. Poor timing from Mayer.

Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mayer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wallace is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Mayer has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Wallace escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Wallace!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mayer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mayer has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mayer is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mayer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wallace manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mayer has Wallace in his guard.

Mayer digs a right hand into Wallace's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wallace's gas tank.

Mayer has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wallace uses from the top position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Damen Mayer will probably get the nod.

I would just about give that final round to Nathan Wallace.
