Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fyodor Emilshenko (ranked 4706 p4p, 25445 weight class) and Jimbo Caterna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimbo Caterna looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fyodor Emilshenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimbo Caterna! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emilshenko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Emilshenko lands in his opponent's guard. Caterna looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Emilshenko is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emilshenko landing with the ground and pound. Emilshenko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Caterna is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Emilshenko, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emilshenko looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Emilshenko working for a triangle but Caterna defends it easily.

Caterna has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at IMMAC Training Facility™ ($50/week). Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Caterna is fighting to break Emilshenko's control of his arms but Emilshenko is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Emilshenko looking to control.
Emilshenko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Caterna is aware though and is defending well. Emilshenko working a defensive guard here.
Caterna throwing strikes but missing. Emilshenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caterna can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emilshenko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Caterna defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emilshenko lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Emilshenko won't allow Caterna to get back to his feet. Emilshenko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emilshenko drives through with a takedown into Caterna's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Caterna can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emilshenko controls the pace. Caterna keeping moving, preventing Emilshenko from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Emilshenko sitting in guard here, content to control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Emilshenko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Caterna tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Emilshenko with a couple of short strikes. Emilshenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Caterna is looking to escape. Caterna is trying to escape the mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emilshenko looking to control and managing it successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Caterna can do anything to dispel that myth. Caterna is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emilshenko trying to control but he's not successful this time. Emilshenko working Caterna over with strikes here. Emilshenko tries to control but Caterna wriggling away. Caterna takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Emilshenko with a couple of short strikes. Emilshenko breaks from Caterna's wrist control and lands an elbow. Emilshenko tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emilshenko is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Caterna can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Emilshenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Caterna is squirming around, avoiding Emilshenko's attempts to control the action. Emilshenko controlling his opponent. Emilshenko is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Caterna can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emilshenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Caterna is looking to escape. Emilshenko controlling his opponent. Emilshenko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Emilshenko trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Emilshenko cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Fyodor Emilshenko dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Caterna gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Emilshenko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Emilshenko trying to control but Caterna is working from the bottom. Emilshenko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emilshenko trying to stand up but can't free himself from Caterna's guard. Caterna takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Emilshenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Emilshenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Caterna is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Emilshenko fails to land the takedown. Caterna looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Emilshenko looks to score with a jab to the body but Caterna is just out of range. Caterna throws a right and a left that both miss. Emilshenko fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Caterna to the ground. Emilshenko is now in Caterna's guard. Caterna is looking to stand back up but Emilshenko counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Caterna.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emilshenko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Emilshenko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Caterna with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Emilshenko is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Emilshenko looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Emilshenko passes to side control. Emilshenko wants to control but Caterna is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emilshenko looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Emilshenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Emilshenko stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The fight stays on the outside here - Emilshenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Emilshenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Caterna keeping full guard, as Emilshenko tries to pass. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Caterna looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Emilshenko passes into half guard.
Jimbo Caterna has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fyodor Emilshenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Still in half guard, Emilshenko seems content to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Fyodor Emilshenko showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emilshenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
