Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenji Nakamura!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frankie Venegas !
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venegas looks to land a combination but Nakamura avoids it well.
Nakamura tests Venegas 's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nakamura lands with a shot to the body.
Nakamura scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nice body punch from Nakamura.
Venegas fails with the takedown.
A counter left hand to the body from Nakamura misses its target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakamura fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Venegas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nakamura dips to his left and cracks Venegas with an uppercut!
Kenji Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Venegas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Venegas showed some decent athleticism there.
Nakamura is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Venegas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Venegas scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Venegas not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Venegas lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Nakamura is looking to improve his position.
Nakamura looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Venegas missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Venegas is controlling the pace.
Venegas has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Nakamura defend it? Venegas steps over the head and cranks it - Nakamura is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Venegas !
