Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Oscar Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Crazyhorse! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crazyhorse gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Baker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like James Crazyhorse has been cut. Crazyhorse doesn't succeed with the takedown and Baker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Crazyhorse fails with the takedown and Baker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Oscar Baker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Crazyhorse. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Crazyhorse is defended easily by Baker. Crazyhorse looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baker is fending him off so far but Crazyhorse persists. Nope, Baker circles away and we're back to standing. A little feinted left hand from Baker on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Baker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Crazyhorse shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Baker as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crazyhorse tries for a takedown but Baker circles away easily letting Baker counter with a right hand. Crazyhorse with a poor takedown and Baker counters with a stiff right hand. We've been informed that Crazyhorse has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Crazyhorse shoots in for a double leg but Baker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crazyhorse has his takedown stuffed and Baker counters with a straight right hand. Crazyhorse looks winded! Crazyhorse fails with a takedown attempt from distance. It looked like Baker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Crazyhorse doesn't succeed with the takedown and Baker counters with a crisp right hand that drops Crazyhorse! Baker lets Crazyhorse back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Crazyhorse is rocked!
That has opened up James Crazyhorse's cut even more. Baker ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Crazyhorse's jaw. Crazyhorse's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Baker does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
