Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shimon Peres!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peres misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jong lands with an overhand left.
Jong has a takedown stuffed.

Jong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jong lands in his opponent's guard.
Jong controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peres controls Jong momentarily but Jong frees himself.

Jong goes for a double leg but Peres avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peres continues to drive forward.
Peres jumps guard but Jong turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Peres fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jim Jong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shimon Peres.
Peres is trying to pull guard but Jong turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jong gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Jong is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Peres can't fight it off and eventually Jong manages to take the fight to the floor. Peres looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Peres has his foot on Jong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jong works his way back into a safe position though.

Peres had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jong defends it easily.

Peres motions for Jong to come forward. Peres throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Jong not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jong's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
